About Us:
The Korean Cultural Center in Arizona (thereafter KCC) was founded in
1998 as a nonprofit organization with concerned charter members and
supports from Korean Cultural Center, The Office of Consulate, Republic
of Korea, Los Angeles. Main purpose is public awareness of the richness
and diversity of 5000 years of Korean culture, arts, language, history
as well as foster cross-cultural understanding between the people
of Arizona and Korea. KCC’s mission is to promote and educate Korean culture for a greater
understanding in an effort to bring communities closer together and economic
ties, bridging gap between the people of Arizona and Korea. KCC is actively involved with other diversity organizations as follows:
KCC has very dedicated diverse board members and strongly participate
or participated with Governor’s Commission on Prevent Domestic
Violence Against Women and Children, Attorney General’s Asian
Justice Advisory Council, Commission on Human Relations, City of Phoenix,
Pacific Rim Advisory Commission, City of Phoenix, Greater Phoenix Multi
Cultural and Arts foundation, Citizen’s Advisory Board of Police
Dept., City of Phoenix.
Michelle Kim, President and Executive, is Valley Leadership Graduate Class
of XXV.
Michelle is appointed as an Official Cultural Representative of Arizona
Region by Korean Cultural Center, The Office of General Consulate Los
Angeles, Republic of Korea in June, 2004. She was awarded in “Outstanding
Achievement Award” by Minister of Korean Culture and Tourism, Republic
of Korea in January, 2004.
Besides KCC’s ongoing annual event, KCC also continuously design
for special programs what this young immigrants local community needs.
